Roulette captures the mind of elegance, sophistication, excitement and wealth where gamblers win big or lose all their bets. Today, online casinos have made it easy and convenient to play with some of them offering live croupiers, mirroring the live casino atmosphere.

There is nothing complicated in playing roulette, a wheel with numbers in black and red, the croupier spins the wheel, drops the ball and you wait for the wheel to stop. Depending where the ball stops you either win or lose.

What is the secret and how can I increase the chances of winning roulette and how does it work?

Place an Inside Bet

An inside bet is made inside the rectangle with 38 possible numbers, it includes 0 and double 0. When the roulette wheel stops the ball lands on a number with a 37-1 chance of winning. If you are victorious and the ball lands on your number you win, this is known as a straight-up bet and the pay-out is high.

Simple right?

That’s not all, you can increase the chance of winning by splitting your bet. By using this strategy you bet on 2 numbers that are close to one another (the line separating the 2 numbers) this doubles your chances. If one of the numbers wins, you only get half the pay-out.

You can ramp up the odds by also going for what is known as a Street Bet, also known as a Trio roulette bet, or Steam which involves using 3 numbers e.g. 1,2,3 which will give you a 11-1 pay-out if you win.

The best part is that you can take it a step further and place a Corner Bet, also known as a square bet with four numbers. The numbers need to form a square and ups the stakes of 8-1 chance of winning.

If you are looking for more excitement you can go for the Snake Bet which covers the numbers 1, 5, 9, 12, 14, 16, 19, 23, 27, 30, 32 and 34. (giving the appearance of a snake if you highlight them). The stakes of being in the money and winning is 2-1.

So we have covered placing Inside Bets, now we look at Outside Bets which is more complicated and not as thrilling as Inside Bets. Instead of using numbers we start with red/black bets by placing a bet on either a black or red number to win. The chance of winning is 50/50.

A high/low bet is on the same principle with the numbers 1-18 low and 19-36 high.

More ways to win…………….

There are 2 more types of outside bets that are not conventional and is known as a Column bet. You bet on the column where the winning number will fall. Made up of 3 columns, the first column includes numbers 1,4,7,10,13,16,19,22,25,28,31,34. The second column 2,5,8,11,14,17,20,23,26,29,32,25 and the third column 3,6,9,12,15,18,21,24,27,30,33,36. The payout is 2-1, doubling your money.

Lastly, in the category of outside bets, there is Dozens bet where you can bet on a set of 12 numbers. Similar to the column bet but instead you bet on the numbers 1-12, 13-24, 25-36. If you win, you double your money at 2-1.

Another option is Call Bets, instead of physically placing your bet they are called out. They are only available at French and European roulette tables.

Lastly, we have Voisins du Zero bets, covers the numbers closest to the 0 on a single 0 roulette wheel and requires a minimum of nine chips – two of which needs to be placed on the 0,2,3, another one on the 4.7 split, another on 2.15, another on 18.12, another on 19/22 with two on 25/26/28/29 corner and the last one on 32/25.

Jeu Zero or zero game is also popular, this calls for players to place bets on numbers closest to zero, specifically numbers 12, 35, 3, 26, 0, 32 using four chips. Three of them on the splits of 0/3, 12/15 and 32/35 with the last chip on 26.

Bottom Line?

Discovering all the options and strategies to online roulette will make the thrill of winning even more exciting!
